Here it is, the single car garage that actually houses a car at night and still holds 30 years of stuff. It's going to be quite a chore to sort through all of this and decide what to keep and what to toss. For now, the "keep" pile will include things that will be sold at a yard sale while we move the real keep stuff into the new garage. Let me know if you see anything you want!In all fairness to Tim, I have to admit that over the years I have asked many times for a tool or a piece of hardware, or I have asked him to make me something, and 90% of the time he has been able to walk out to the garage and find it or build it for me.
That has been such a blessing. I look forward to the things he will build when he has his workshop area in the new garage. Certainly it will be easier for him to get to the table saw and the bench!

Ahh, the comfort of the old garage. I'm sure there's plenty I want to keep (I am my father's daughter), but my main question is about the post with our heights on it. Is there a way to incorporate that into the new space? This is almost more important to me than the hopscotch . . .
It sure is hard to keep a secret in this family!
Yes, the growth post will be preserved. I couldn't part with that!

Ah the things we accumulate....Just searching our basement tonight for items to give to our greyhound rummage sale. Lots of good memories. Quite a mess to clean up too. Keep up the good work and keep us informed. Love the photos.
Thank goodness the growth post is moving to the new garage space! Even if it is wrong (I'm obviously taller than my sister), it is a reference point that cannot go away.
A few more thoughts on the garage clean up....
>> please remember to plan for space to store things like plastic boxes and eyeglass screws and old telephone wire to tie up the sweet peas
>> hopscotch laggers and the famous blue squirtgun with the perfect aim should stick around
>> if, for some reason, it is decided that old toolboxes or the drawers that hold piece of everything have to go, let me know. I am sure there is room in my basement (or space in my house to make creative use of the drawers).
